Suffering from Pain and Injuries?
Ask your doctor to prescribe massage therapy for your auto accident or workers’ compensation related injury.
A candidate for deep tissue massage is usually the kind of client that has some type of trauma, typically an auto accident or on the job injury. Besides from trauma injuries, massage is good for postural and structural dysfunction or in abuse and overuse syndromes.
Determine if massage is for you, are you:
- Starting to have gradual, intermittent or constant pain.
- Is medication providing limited help.
- Stiffness and sharp pain.
- Frequent muscle spasms.
- Pain arises in movement or at rest.
Don’t wait. Try massage and see if it works for you. You’ll be happy your doctor has prescribeded it.
Therapeutic massage has many known, proven, healthful results. One main result is that it increases circulation. If a muscle is traumatized from a car accident more than likely there is pain. With any painful muscle it is usually an indication of lack of blood flow. Eventually this irritation caused by ischemia (lack of blood flow) leads to increased tone and decreased range of motion. Painful muscles require drainage of waste product and increased circulation. This is where therapeutic massage helps. Massage brings circulation to the muscle fibers and breaks up the congestion in the muscles and helps remove metabolic waste.
AUTOMOBILE ACCIDENTS
Insurance companies of automobile accident victims accept and pay for massage therapy treatments. Patients, doctors, and attorneys are now inclined to consider massage therapy as a health care treatment because of its non-invasive, less expensive approach.
WORKERS COMPENSATION
Work injury insurance has the liability to provide any and all treatment that is medically necessary and could help the injured party regain health. Medically necessary treatment may include massage therapy whereby the prescribing physician has ordered massage.
EXPENSE ACCOUNTS
If you have a plan where an expense account is set up, you can usually use those funds for massage therapy.
